What is Old Mutual SEED Seasons?

OM SEED: Seasons is the new version of the Old Mutual Sustainable Economic Empowerment Development Programme (OM SEED). Unlike previous editions, the programme will be rolled out nationally across all 14 regions of Namibia, creating an opportunity to identify and support young entrepreneurs and emerging enterprises across a wider range of industries.

Applicants will apply under one of five Seasons, depending on the nature of their business or initiative. All applicants will go through the same structured selection, pitching and development journey.
The OM SEED seasons are: 
  • SEED Level Up: Youth Entrepreneurship
  • SEED Green: Environmental Sustainability
  • SEED Play: Sports & Wellness
  • SEED Made: Creative Industries
  • SEED Manufacturing: Artisans & Manufacturing
Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility 

Applicants must be Namibian citizens or permanent residents and must own, operate or be developing a business. 

2. Age requirements 

Applicants for SEED Level Up must be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of application. The other Seasons are open to applicants of any age above the age of 18.

3. Application category 

Applicants must apply under one of the five OM SEED: Seasons categories. Only one application per individual or business is permitted. 

4. Application submission 

Applications must be complete, accurate and submitted through the official application channel before the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will be disqualified. Submit your application at any Old Mutual Branch. 

5. Selection process 

The 10 shortlisted applicants will undergo a site visit to assess their businesses. They will also be required to participate in product demonstrations, business pitches, compulsory business training and other programme-related activities. 

6. Final decision 

The decisions of Old Mutual Foundation and the appointed selection or judging panel are final. Submission of an application does not guarantee selection or funding. 

7. Participation 

Selected participants must attend all compulsory programme activities and comply with the programme rules, schedules and requirements. 

8. Funding and support 

Any funding or support awarded must be used for the approved business purpose. Participants will be required to provide proof of expenditure and progress reports. 

9. Marketing and personal information 

Top 10 participants will be required to participate in programme-related photography, videography, media and promotional activities, subject to the necessary consent. 

10. Disqualification and programme changes 

Old Mutual Foundation may disqualify applicants who provide false information, breach the programme rules or misuse programme support. Old Mutual Foundation reserves the right to amend, postpone, or cancel the programme where necessary.
